Gaby’s strength in facing death was a great gift to you. I saw something similar with my dad as he died of cancer. He accepted his fate with grace — and was an example to me about how to face inevitable death. I’m not sure if I will be able to replicate that when my time comes but that will be my aspiration.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Claire. Gaby was one of my wife's most cherished friends, and we've both been full of admiration - as you are - for the courage, humour and resolve she has shown in the face of her illness and its inevitable conclusion.

I'm sorry, Claire. My condolences to Liz, and to you--trite expression, but the thought and the feeling are far from that.

Truly, though, Gaby is better off, now, with her release from the cancer. She's in green fields, now, or in that heath, with the sun in her face.
