🌐👀 Global Eyes, World Lunatic Edition
Bats upon bats upon bats: The world through the eyes of the Russian, Chinese, Iranian, and North Korean media.
Scanning the Russian press for the perfect article to share with you, I found myself so spoiled for choice that I couldn’t decide. (Tsargrad is simply inspired today.) I decided to return to the task after looking at the Chinese press, but found to my surprise that their propaganda organs too are unusually fecund today. And so are the Iranian newspapers. And, why, so is the North Korean newspaper! (There’s only one.)
Knowing I’m not allowed to send you book-length editions of Global Eyes anymore, I decided to get rid of all the other sections and create a special edition featuring nothing but reports from the Lunatic Axis. I call it “Global Eyes: The Bat Squeaks.”1
As always, I can’t vouch for the accuracy of these translations. As usual, when Google’s translation seems to me infelicitous or improbable, I’ve taken the liberty of improving the English or making an educated guess about what it must have said originally. Don’t use these translations as anything but a rough guide to the authors’ moods. If you plan to cite them for a more serious purpose, confirm them first with a native speaker.
