Something I can't get over is how many of Bill Gates' old business opponents almost all of which he smashed back in the day are high level supporters of MAGA. People like Larry Ellison, Marc Andreesen, and Scott McNealy. And many other Silicon Valley supporters of MAGA like Elon Musk, David Sacks, and Peter Thiel while never being direct competitors of Bill Gates are pretty well known to despise the man and vice versa.

Why is this significant? Well Gates has been rumored about running for President I don't know since he turned 35 decades ago. He still has more money than god(In term of actually "cash" wealth that could be turned be turned into liquid assets to fund a political campaign he is far richer than Elon). Now Gates has generally stayed away from politics until very recently when he endorsed Kamala Harris for the first time but I do have to wonder if there is not some resentment of the likes of Andreesen and McNealy trying to rewrite history and portraying themselves as titans of technology supporting Trump when in fact Gates crushed both on the business battlefield. Will Gates step into the political ring next time like a retired prize fighter one last time trying to beat the old opponents to a pulp? I don't know I have never met the man but I have met people who have met him and been told he is one of the most competitive people they have ever met. His kids are now grown up and he is divorced along with being semi-estranged from his long time friend and moderating influence Warren Buffett. The moment could be right for a final takedown of all his old enemies in the technology world Elon, David Sacks, Peter Thiel, Scott McNealy, Larry Ellison, JD Vance and Marc Andressen.

**Elon in particular idolizes the now deceased Steve Jobs one Gates earliest and most bitter rivalries.

There’s somewhat credible reporting that Gates supported Harris because he was worried that a Trump Justice Department would release the files on the Jeffrey Epstein case. Specifically Trump said, “I’d be inclined to do the Epstein” and emphasized that he never visited the island himself, unlike many prominent individuals.

Given Gates relationship with Epstein that Ms French-Gates suggested precipitated her divorce from Gates, a presidential campaign run by Gates might be highly problematic.

What’s fascinating to me, and something I can’t get my arms around, is why sexual scandals don’t impact Trump. He’s immune and most people he’s associated with also seem to be immune. Gaetz was an exception but only because he was hated for so many other reasons. Yet Democrats and almost anyone else accused of the same behavior Trump and his buddies are accused of find their political prospects plunging into a black hole.

Trump is truly made of Teflon. He’s a modern day King David. He seems to benefit from divine protection.

Not sure I agree. Again Gates has more money than God. Even people who prefer Trump to Gates would have to admit that. Gates's issue is young men under 35 and perhaps even as high as 40 don't really get who he was back in the day and how big of a deal he was. He is really a creature of the 1980/90s society and culture I personally grew-up in NOT the more communitarian post 9/11 America. Gates is attractive to people who grew-up watching movies like Secret of my Success, Working Girl, and Other People's Money. People my age but not much younger. Gates is not the candidate of the Joe Rogan demographic.

Here is another idea? If Trump can get elected despite being convicted of a felony why not Michael Milken for President. Michael Milken is basically the inspiration for all those 1980s movie male businessman corporate raider type characters like Richard Gere in Pretty Woman. Milken is a far more substantive business figure of the 1980s than Trump.

Another 80s/90s fictional movie character I idolized growing up. The John Gage character in the movie Indecent Proposal played by Robert Redford just to give some more color on how and where I come from sociologically.

The article title and subtitle are worthwhile. The article itself, much less so.

It is hard to imagine a more colossal waste of time, effort and resources than trying to create a viable third party in the United States. It will never happen. Even Teddy Roosevelt couldn’t do it. I’m old enough to remember Teddy Roosevelt, Mr. Zubrin. You’re no Teddy Roosevelt.

Whatever his many shortcomings may be, Donald Trump is a political genius. He took over the GOP lock, stock and barrel and converted it from the party of business elites into the party of working people. You would have far more success, Mr. Zubrin attempting to do what Trump did. Pick either the Democratic Party or the GOP and find a charismatic leader to refashion it in the direction that you prefer.

It would be a tough slog that probably won’t succeed but at least it’s in the world of the possible. Trump proved it. What you are trying to do, Mr. Zubrin will surely fail.
