And I’ve tried to listen to Dina’s. I’ll get twenty minutes in, leave to change a diaper or warm a bottle, and the blasted Substack page reloads. Trying to scroll through a Substack recording on a small iPhone is more frustrating than changing diapers on some booger who just decides he’s gonna poop in every fresh diaper as soon as it is on him! It’s like Groundhog Day around here!
I also get the sneaking suspicion that Substack has grown too fast and can’t keep up on the tech end. There’ve been a lot of problems of late at The Dispatch, which is probably one of the reasons they’re leaving the platform today.
I don’t know either, Claire. I have one other podcast that gums up like this, but it’s run by an elderly tech guy who does everything himself, so I chalk it up to doing everything the hard way. Thing is, I can reinstall the RSS link for his podcast, and I’ll immediately get the new episodes. The Substack link doesn’t let me subscribe via RSS more than once. I guess I can delete the feed I have and reinstall it. After I listen to Shay’s episode, of course.
There are better ways of coping with special content than leaving it to a web page that auto reloads. I also find that lack of holding a cache until manual reload very annoying.
This one made it onto the RSS feed! Now just to get Dina’s second and Steenblik’s up!
Huh? I don't get it! I did it the same way exactly!

Would it help if I uploaded these podcasts to a different service, like Buzzsprout?
Is your podcast on a distribution service now? I don't see it anywhere when I do a quick search.
No, it isn't. I'm thinking I should upload it separately to another service. Does anyone have a recommendation?
