🌐 The Global Eye
Half of the whole world's news
This version of Global Eyes is a little odd. I didn’t manage my reading time quite right today, and somehow wound up including twice as many items from the Americas as I usually send, but none from Africa.
I know from bitter experience that every time I decide to hold over Global Eyes until the next day, a massive international story breaks during the night. Then the whole previous day’s newsletter gets overtaken by events and I have to throw it out. So I decided to send this as is—I didn’t want to invite the destabilization of the whole world order.
We'll call it call it “The Global Eye.” (The other eye, I suppose, is suffering from strabismus. A good night’s sleep ought to fix it.)
I'll make up for it with a special edition of Global Eyes: Africa, More Europe, Part of Asia, and a Few More Items from the Middle East later this week.
(Remember, this is an artisanal product. The idiosyncrasies are part of its charm.)
