Last week the Times of London published a lengthy article on the origins of Covid19: “What really went on inside the Wuhan lab weeks before Covid erupted.” The reporters, George Arbuthnott and Jonathan Calvert, made significant claims.
Most of the article relies on information that’s been known for a while and won’t come as a surprise if you’ve closely followed this debate. If you haven’t, the article offers a fairly clear explication of the case that the virus emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, although it contains a few mistakes.
The new and significant part is the claim—which so far no one serious has made before, to my knowledge—that the Chinese military was behind this research and the object of the research was to develop bioweapons:
