A bewildering horror in Annecy
France is in shock after four tiny children—babies, almost, between the ages of 22 months and three years—were gravely injured in a knife attack in the town of Annecy in the French Alps. No one has the first clue why it happened. A madman ran into a playground by the lake and began stabbing babies in their strollers. All of the children have life-threatening injuries, and two adults were also seriously wounded.
The assailant is in custody—the police were there within minutes and shot him in the leg. He’s a 31-year-old Syrian who had refugee status in Sweden. He’s also a Christian who was wearing a cross and shouting, “In the name of Jesus Christ,” in English, while he attacked babies.
