Middle East 101
‼️⏰ Reminder: We're meeting two and a half hours later than usual today.
Don’t forget! Our discussion group will be meeting at 7:00 pm Paris time this evening, which is 8:00 pm in Israel, 10:00 am Pacific, and 1:00 pm Eastern. David Hazony will be joining us:
Here’s David’s Substack page. He’s published a number of essays from his new book there. We’ve published one of his authors here, too: Izabella Tabarovsky’s superb essay about the new antisemitism and its Soviet origins. You’ve read this essay before, but please review it, if you have a chance, before our discussion.
The event is open to anyone who has been following along with the ME101 reading and would like to join. As usual, students who have been in class from the beginning will be given the first chance to ask questions or comment.
If you haven’t been following along, this discussion probably isn’t be the best place to jump in. We’re nearing the end of the class, and the discussion will build on the months of reading we’ve already done. But if there’s demand for it, I might consider teaching the class again next year.
See you tonight!
