Good afternoon, everyone.
The news:
Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has been confirmed killed. Israeli jets dropped some 30 bombs on his home while he was meeting with his inner circle, a gathering the CIA and Mossad pinpointed. The strikes decapitated Iran's senior command structure. The IAF killed 40 senior Iranian commanders “within a minute” in the opening wave of Operation Roaring Lion, the IDF said. Confirmed kills include:
IRGC commander Mohammad Pakpour
Armed Forces Chief of Staff Abdolrahim Mousavi
Supreme Defense Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani
Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh
At least three other top officials were also killed, as were Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law, and grandchild.
Iran announced the “most devastating offensive in IRGC history” and targeted 27 US bases and Israel. Iran’s president called the strike on Khamenei “an open declaration of war against Muslims.”
Missiles targeted our base in Qatar. A drone was intercepted moments before striking the Burj Khalifa. Tel Nof Airbase, the Israeli air force’s headquarters in Tel Aviv, as well as a large defense industrial complex, were attacked. Missiles struck airports in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain. Four were wounded in Dubai, and one killed in Abu Dhabi.
The UAE says three people have been killed, and hundreds of Iranian missiles and drones have been destroyed, since yesterday. Another 58 have been injured by drones and missiles launched from Iran. The three dead are from Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. The UAE’s defense ministry said that UAE air defenses destroyed 20 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 311 drones today. Eight missiles fell into the sea. Twenty-one drones hit civilian targets.
