I sat down to edit all the extraneous items out of the most recent edition of Global Eyes, intending to send you a mini version, as promised. But on re-reading it, I sincerely concluded there were no extraneous items. Which stories weren’t all that important? The one about Russia threatening to shoot down commercial satellites? The one about China running illegal police stations in every inhabited continent? The one about Iranian regime figures desperately trying to get foreign passports?

So I gave it up as a bad job. That edition of Global Eyes may have been long, but you genuinely needed to read the whole thing to be a reasonably-well informed person.

But to make up for it, here’s a mini Global Eyes. Just five stories.

🇺🇦🇷🇺 Sevastopol’s Pearl Harbor

Ukraine carried out a massive attack on Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, using naval and aerial kamikaze drones. Check out the footage, shot from the drone. (What you’re seeing in the water is Russian machine-gun fire.)
