Ukraine’s Center for Counteracting Disinformation (which operates under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council) claims Putin is losing favor with his inner circle of oligarchs, creating conditions for his overthrow.
Among Putin’s “pocket oligarchs,” Yury Kovalchuk, Gennady Timchenko, and Sergey Chemezov, may still communicate with him in person. Oligarchs from the Yeltsin era are defiantly avoiding personal communication, and it is from their side Putin fears a “stab in the back.”
The Russian Embassy in Finland is putting out an appeal, on Twitter, to ethnic Russians: “Please report cases of violation of rights, discrimination and incitement of hatred against citizens of the Russian Federation and native speakers of the Russian language to the consular department of the embassy by e-mail.”
